Men’s Health – Although many chose not to discuss men’s health, it is important to us as wives, daughters, and mothers.  

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality  (AHRQ) has joined with the Ad Council to launch a series of public service advertisements to raise awareness among middle-aged men of the importance of preventive medical testing.  New AHRQ data show that men are 24% less likely than women to have had a doctor’s visit in the past year and that they are about 30% more likely than women to be hospitalized for preventable conditions.  The PSAs encourage men to visit http://www.ahrq.gov/healthymen/, where they can learn about the preventive medical tests they need.

And, it is important to read the American Fertility Association’s coverage on male infertility and how it too is overlooked by doctors, wives and the men themselves.
